Prosecutors from 31 states gathered on September 27th and September 28th, 2018 to attend the Best Practices for the 21st Century Modern Prosecutor Conference This national meeting was sponsored by Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office and PCE.

Spokane, Washington, July 13, 2018 – Top-ranking prosecutors from 25 states gathered this week to share best practices and tackle emerging issues facing the administration of justice in our country at the 12th National Best Practices Meeting in Spokane, Washington at the Davenport Grand Hotel.

Prosecutorial leaders from 22 states joined the 10th national best practices meeting lead by the Prosecutors’ Center for Excellence (PCE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. PCE’s mission is to work with prosecutors to improve the criminal justice system, to address emerging issues and to support statewide best practices committees for prosecutors. Twenty prosecutor-led statewide best practices committees have been created around the country, with more under consideration. The focus of the day and a half summit was to share ideas and to discuss best practices that can enhance the criminal justice system.

PCE comments on importance of prosecutors working in their communities.

[WASHINGTON DC] – On February 2, 2017, prosecutors from 26 states and the District of Columbia came together at a meeting led by Prosecutors’ Center for Excellence to discuss prosecutor protocols for investigating police use of force cases, ethics policies and eyewitness identification procedures.  Prosecutors’ Center for Excellence is a think tank that provides policy advice to prosecutors working to improve the criminal justice system and supports the establishment of statewide prosecutor-led best practices committees.

Non-Partisan, National Think Tank Will Provide Prosecutors With Expertise, Research and Support for States’ Best Practices Committees
