Ykim Anderson

S.E.T. Trainer - NYS SNUG

Ykim Anderson is a dedicated individual who has experienced firsthand the challenges and struggles faced by individuals who have been incarcerated. After serving 13 years in prison, Ykim made the decision to turn his life around and use his experiences to help others in similar situations.

Upon his release, Ykim Became a Snug Outreach Worker, where he could directly connect with individuals who were at risk of becoming involved in criminal activities. Through his work, he strives to provide support, guidance, and resources to help individuals make positive choices and avoid the path that led him to prison.

In addition to his work in street outreach, Ykim also works for the DC JS (Department of Criminal Justice Services), where he is certified New York State Snug S.E.T. trainers where he helps trains all outreach workers throughout the State. Ykim continues to advocate for and support youth who are involved in the juvenile justice system. Ykim has been instrumental in collaborating with OCFS facilities to implement programs and initiatives aimed at improving the overall health and wellbeing of youth in state facilities.

Ykim’ s dedication and passion for helping others stems from his own personal journey and experiences. He understands the importance of providing support and resources to individuals who may be struggling and is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those he works with. Through his work in Snug Street outreach as the Program Manager and with DC JS, Ykim continues to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for those who are seeking a second chance.
