Nassau County District Attorney’s Office (Long Island, NY)
Population: 1,357,000 | Number of Full-Time Prosecutors: 231 | Contact Information
Working with Innovation Prosecution Solutions, Nassau County District Attorney’s Office is leading the implementation of a zone-focused prosecution model to combat gang crime in the Village of Hempstead.
Prosecutors, Crime Strategy Unit (CSU) analysts, detective-investigators, and community partners plan to meet bi-weekly to share and review intelligence, plan law enforcement responses, create new or upgrade existing crime prevention strategies, and collaborate with local outreach programs. To improve efficiency in this model, CSU analysts also synthesize crime data to target chronic offenders and better inform the team response to violent crime.
