On September 9, 2025 PCE hosted a Pop-Up on Science-Based Interviewing. It focused on prosecutor’s use of evidence backed techniques grounded in psychology and cognitive science to gather accurate and reliable information from witnesses, victims, and suspects. These methods prioritize rapport-building and open-ended questioning to reduce bias, enhance recall, and strengthen the quality of evidence. This paper explores methods that can be used by prosecutor offices across the country to identify and disclose police impeachment material. Statewide efforts to standardize impeachment disclosure also are examined. The purpose of this paper is to provide general information for prosecutors considering these issues.

PCE and Microsoft teamed up for a 2-day in-person event in Chicago, IL on June 17-18, 2025. Here prosecutors and IT staff across the country discussed AI and ethical/use policy, did a crash course on co-pilot and were able to put their knowledge into hands-on guided prompt datasets.
