The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has implemented a diversion program, supported by Innovative Prosecution Solutions, for defendants ages 18 to 25 who presented a moderate risk of re-offense. Participants are selected using the Ohio Risk Assessment System and a strict set of eligibility criteria. Once in the program, the young adults plead guilty to the crimes committed, regularly appear before a diversion judge, and are monitored by experienced probation officers.

Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia (Washington, DC)

Through a grant from Innovative Prosecution Solutions, the District of Columbia’s Office of the Attorney General (DCOAG) has created and implemented a restorative justice (RJ) program aimed at reducing the risk of reoffending among individuals between the ages of 12 and 24 who have committed low-level offenses (e.g., unlawful entry, theft). Upon the victim’s consent, DCOAG facilitates a mediation process between the victim, the offender, and their families.

York County District Attorney’s Office (York, PA)

In 2016, the York City Police Department initiated a Group Violence Intervention (GVI) program in conjunction with the York County District Attorney’s Office and other partners to tackle the high violent crime rate in York city.

Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office (Logan, OH)

Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office (Long Beach, CA)

To address chronic problems related to mental health, homelessness, and recidivism, the Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office partnered with Laserfiche, a private company, to develop an app that law enforcement officers can use on patrol to access critical information such as warrants, stay away court orders, probation, or parole or diversion status.

Fulton County District Attorney’s Office (Atlanta, GA)

The Fulton County District Attorney (FCDA) is using IPS grant funds to hire a designated investigator and contract with FileOnQ to build an evidence storage system for the thousands of case files and pieces of evidence it has retained over the years as the designated custodian of evidence for all criminal trials in the county.

Office of the District Attorney, Eighth Judicial District (Larimer & Jackson County, CO)

The CDA 8th developed a pre-plea diversion program that screens incoming misdemeanors for candidates who can participate in services or restorative justice.

Office of the State’s Attorney for Howard County (Ellicott City, MD)

The OSAHC, local law enforcement, the Public Defender’s Office, and County and State authorities have developed a post arrest, pre-charging Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion program (LEAD).

St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (St. Louis, MO)

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (SLCPA) partnered with the Court, Public Defender, and the County Library to create a “Tap In Center” where community members can get legal help.

Coconino County Attorney’s Office (Flagstaff, AZ)

The Coconino County Attorney’s Office (CCA) has developed a prefiling diversion program that connects arrestees to a variety of health and social service programs before the decision to file charges is made by the CCA.
