The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office (SBDA) has developed an award winning peer support program which provides professional supportive services to employees who are facing issues as result of secondary trauma and stress as a result of personal or professional challenges. The program is staffed by employees who undergo peer support training that teaches communication skills for people in crisis, understanding available resources, and laws regulating the confidentiality of peer support conversations.

The Platte County Prosecutor’s Office provides information connecting jurors with free mental health services after deliberating in difficult cases. In partnership with a local mental health provider, Platte County prosecutors developed a card that is handed out to jurors at the conclusion of a trial.
On May 12, 2022 PCE’s Pop-Up included conversations with senior prosecutors, new prosecutors and law school administrators on new interview ideas, building a supportive office culture and improving relationships with law schools.
